project management

Mr. Leong Boon Tik is my project management module's (QSB 4424) lecturer. This is a 4 credit hours module. Through this module, I had learned the principle, techniques and managerial issues, which form the process of project management. The area of study focuses in particular on project management in a construction context but also make considerable reference to the activity in other fields of commercial and business activity to emphasize the broad applicability of the principle.

learning outcomes

I'm able to:

• Understand the roles and functions of construction project participants and the organizational structures where they occur

• Understand the form and influence of leadership in the construction project process and the relationships of players to a project’s success

• Understand the application of management techniques in the control and direction of construction project resources

• Evaluate the dynamic changes which occur during a construction project’s life cycle and the nature of a project’s success

Though this module, I'm able to learn more about project management which is good for my future as a quantity surveyor. I'm able to differentiate the scope of various project knowledge areas. Moreover, I had learned how to use the software to draw a work breakdown schedule (WBS). It is useful in the future to speed up and stated clearly the date of activities. I also learned about the importance of the project management in a building project.
