Welcome

construction law
Mr. Wong Chong Wei as my Construction Law module's (QSB 4414) lecturer. Through this module, I had learned more about the general principals of law, FIDIC form of contract and also Construction Industry Payment Adjudication Act (CIPAA). I'm able to differentiate the clauses between PAM Contract 2006 and FIDIC form of contract. I believed that these knowledge are very important and helpful on my future career as a Quantity Surveyor. As a Quantity Surveyor, we are not only knowing how to measure the building materials but also about the form of contract. Subsequently, I had learned to adopt a systematic approach to analyze disputes and the respective liabilities.
Furthermore, I had learned the roles and liabilities of architects, quantity surveyors and other professionals in relation to professional negligence and the use of collateral contract and collateral warranties. Through this module, I had learned the principles and processes used for avoidance and resolving disputes that arise during construction projects; litigation, arbitration, adjudication, mediation and other alternative dispute resolution (ADR) stated by the Malaysian Government Legislation and Standard Forms of Contract.
