Mr. Chiew Seng Khoon is my construction technology II (QSB 1524) module's lecturer. This module will enable the development and establishment of a base knowledge of the fundamental principles of design and technology. Such base knowledge will enable students to appreciate the decisions made on the design, functional element, selection and the rational and economic use of resources. It also explains the fundamentals of piled foundations, deep excavation, formwork, scaffoldings, shoring and underpinning, partition and suspended ceilings, portal frames, precast concrete and steel roof trusses.

Through this module, I've learnt to understand the concept and knowledge on the actual construction practice at the site. Furthermore, I've learnt the ability to apply the complete constructional procedures of the various types of building with suitable materials and design. In addition, I've learnt the ability to apply the health and safety measure necessary for the construction industry.

Assignment 1-sketching

Assignment 1 for construction technology II is sketching. It is an individual assignment. I was asked to sketch 20 drawings related to the syllabus in given templates. After sketching, I am able to recognize the each state of the building. The objectives of this assignment are:

To develop the ability to apply the complete constructional procedures of the various types of building with suitable materials and design.
To illustrate each stage of the building and design process, with carefully labelled with the relevant technical terms.

Assignment 2-Video

The group assignment is to produce a video project which proves a degree of accomplishment in each of the requirements identified in the detailed criteria and guidance. Our group has 5 members who are Stephanie Yeoh, Vivian Tan, Cecilia Tie, Cassandra Wong and I. We chose the partition wall topic to do our video assignment. The video lasts around 20 minutes. We collected the information from YouTube and combined all wanted video. Types of partition wall that we chose are stud wall, glass partition, fermacell wall and stonewool (sound insulation) partition.
