research methodology

Dr. Myzatul Aishah Binti Hj Kamarazaly is my research methodology module's (QSB 60103) lecturer. This is a 3 credit hours module. The module intends to introduce students to academic research and provide some in-depth understanding of the research methodology. The module covers the process and techniques of research, research design, identification of research areas and the preparation of research proposal. At the end of the course, students should be able to identify issues, problems and areas of research, identify relevant data and information required for the research, develop data collection techniques, design research process and prepare research proposal.

Students should also be able to seek information from a variety of sources, open to new ideas and have the capacity for self-directed learning, look for alternative ideas and solutions, present information and express ideas clearly, effectively and confidently and act ethically with integrity and social responsibility.

Through this module, I have learnt

 

  • To develop awareness of the current local and global issues in the construction industry.

  • To explore the approaches to research.

  • To demonstrate a systematic and orderly mind to produce a viable academic research.

dissertation - research proposal & literature review

Assignment for this research methodology is completing chapter 1 and chapter 2 of my dissertation which is known as final year project of degree life. Chapter 1 is research proposal and Chapter 2 is literature review. Dr. Aishah is my dissertation's supervisor and she really helps me a lot and provide advice in my journey of completing my research.

Research Topic : Green Building Materials in Malaysia

The objectives of my research are to identify the characteristics of Green Building Materials in Malaysia, determine the suitability of Green Building Materials in construction industry in Malaysia, determine the challenges faced in using Green Building Materials in Malaysia and establish solutions to overcome the challenges faced in using Green Building Materials in Malaysia.
