Measurement III

Mr. Soon Lam Tatt is my measurement III module's (QSB 60304) lecturer. This is a 5 credit hours module. This module will cover the measurement of for doors, windows, roof trusses, roof finishes, roof drainage, structural steel works and metal works. I had learnt about the introduction on the specification writing, form of specification writing and their uses for the various trades.

Learning outcomes

Go to the end of this module, I'm able to recognize the items measureable for doors (lockset,packing piece,door leaf & door frame), windows (glazing, frame, casement frame, single leave & ironmongeries), roof structure(struts, ridge & trusses), roof finishes (roof tiles), roof draingage (pipes) , structural steel works and metal works. I also learned how to produce measurement for all the elements in accordance to Standard Method of Measurement (SMM2).

Assignment 1

In this project, my group members who are Cecilia Tie, Cassandra Wong and I are required to prepare measurement and bill of quantities for doors and windows for a condominium OR small office & home office OR serviced apartment OR residential properties. Our group had chosen DK Senze serviced apartment as our site visit location.

 

We are requested to prepare a report and record the site measurement and dimension. Based on the site measurement and dimension, we need to prepare taking off and bill of quantities for all doors and windows for DK Senza.
