Students also will be introduced to the relationship between building morphology, design variables and life cycle costing of a building. Students are also given the opportunity to learn and apply information technology in the cost planning.

assignment
We were requested by Ms. Dianne to form a group with 8 members (Cecilia Tie, Lau Sii, Khor Seem Leng, Stephanie Yeoh, Lai Ken Min, Ng Ding Boon, Kevin Hii & Chua Jia Cheng). We were required to complete a cost appraise and present to Ms. Dianne who acts as our client.

We had prepared our benchmark project which helps in justify the cost of the building. Quantity and rates must be shown in the detailed appraisal.

Assignment Brief as shown as below:

"You are part of an established Project Management and Cost Consulting Company in Malaysia. The client is a developer from Singapore and he wants to invest in a piece of land in KL. He has paid for your services to come up with a Cost Appraisal for him."
Through this assignment, I had learnt how to calculate the quantities of the selected area and build up the rates for each items. Reading the assignment brief, drawings provided and Technical Conditions of Tender is a must while doing assignment. Furthermore, teamwork is utmost important in group assignment. We discussed the questions together and solved them out.

Excel file of our cost appraisal.
