Building services I
Building Services I module (BLD60403) is lectured by Dr. Kam Kenn Jhun. Through this module, I am able to understand an introduction to services that are commonly provided in a building, primarily cold water treatment and supply, sewerage disposal and treatment, storm water management, telecommunication services and ventilation systems. I also made familiar with basic requirements, Uniform Building By-Law (UBBL), planning, coordination and installation of these services.
After studying this module, I've learnt how to identify relevant information related to water supply, liquid waste disposal, storm water management, security services and ventilation system. I can also explain principles, systems, space implications and regulations related to water supply, storm water and waste water disposal, internal air quality and telecommunication services. Furthermore, I am able to recognize and interpret drawings related to building services and to illustrate services construction in schematic diagrams. I've learnt how to distinguish and differentiate the installation of various types of services in a building.

SMART Tunnel project.
assignment-report & presentation
This project is a study on building services system with the selected topics such as a ventilation system, telecommunication, storm water system, cold water supply and hot water supply. We are required to carry out own research study based on given topic supported by at least one case study either in local or oversea. Our group chose a topic which is named Building Intergration of Solar Energy. Besides doing report, we are also required to have a presentation on our topic.
Title : Building Intergration of Solar Energy
Objective : To extend and refine knowledge relating to the building services technology and the management system.
Learning Outcome : Identify the application, system, installation, process, benefits, problems and anything relevant to support the documentation.

Solar panels on the building.

Practicing for our presentation early in the moring.

Taking photo with Mr. Kam after presenting. Well Done!
Taylor’s Graduate Capabilities (TGC)
The Taylor’s Graduate Capabilities (TGC) Portfolio is a document that collates all assessments produced in a module and reflects a student’s acquisition of the Module Learning Outcomes and Taylor’s Graduate Capabilities.

lifelong learning
I've learnt the installation of solar panels on the building. It is quite environmental friendly.

thinking and problem solving skills
I am able to think critically and analyse problems to arrive at effective solutions.
