dEVELOPMENT economics
Sr. Dianne Kok Hui Wei is my development economics module's (QSB 60303) lecturer. This is a 4 credit hours module. Through this module, I had learned the development, roles and contribution of construction industry to national economy. It is initiated with the introduction of the process in a property development and factors that influence the development process. Moreover, I had also learned the various techniques of development appraisal and source of finance available. It is then concluded with the important of market research to the overall development process and its impact of research to the development.

DE & BE Workshop
Ms. Dianne had organised a workshop for students from semester 5 and semester 6. We were formed in a group with 10 members. Mr. Eugene was invited by Ms. Dianne to come to Taylor's University and give a speech to us. We were required to complete a cost appraise and present to Mr. Eugene who acts as our client.

We had prepared our benchmark project which helps in justify the cost of the building. Quantity and rates must be shown in the detailed appraisal. Through this workshop, I had learned how to design a green building, do the GFA/CFA breakdown, find and formulate cost data and, calculate payback period or return on investment (ROI).
